ISC Internet Rule-of-Law Working Committee Established

On April 29th, the Founding conference for Internet Rule-of-Law Working Committee of the Internet Society of China (ISC) was held in Beijing. Representatives from more than 60 organizations attended this conference, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), ISC, China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR), Internet enterprises, law firms, colleges and research institutes.

Lu Wei, Secretary General of ISC, pointed out that, ISC attaches great importance to the cyberspace rule of law construction, setting up the committee will help to promote the Internet legislative process.

This conference reviewed and approved the Working Rules of the Committee. Li Guobing, former Inspector of Policies and Regulations Department of the MIIT, was elected as the Director of committee. Lu Wei, Secretary General of ISC, was elected as the Standing Deputy Director. Nine people including Liu Duo, Vice President of CATR, were elected as Deputy Directors of the committee. Lu Chuncong, Director of Policy and Economic Research Institute of CATR, was elected as the Secretary General of the working committee. Lu Chuncong, gave a introduction to the recent work plan of the committee. Firstly, fully devoted to the work and strengthen the foundation of organization construction. Secondly, build up a new platform for promoting the Internet rule of law. Thirdly, enhance the influence of the committee.

As a part of the conference, Lu Chuncong, made a presentation titled Perfect laws and regulations to promote the Internet+. In addition, Xiao Jianhua, Vice President of the Law School of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, delivered a speech about the influence network information technology has on judicial process. Zhang Qinkun, Deputy Secretary General of Internet Research Institue of Tencent, made a speech about the suggestions for legislation and public policy in the era of Internet+.
