In 2005, Internet Society of China (ISC) designated May 25, the date of inauguration, as the “Internet Public Welfare Day”. This is to respond to the call to promote the underdeveloped areas and disadvantaged groups to be able to access the Internet and share digital opportunities, eliminate the digital divide.

As for the 2022 “Internet Public Welfare Day”, ISC organized the “Bridging the Digital Divide, Sharing Digital Services” event to introduce the history, development, and services of website transformation initiative for an aging-friendly Internet and information accessibility, promoting further construction and build an equal, shared, and harmonious online environment.

Based on the successful implementation of the “Public Welfare Action on China e-Gov Information Accessibility” in previous years, ISC will implement the “Public Welfare Action on Aging-Friendly Internet and Information Accessibility Transformation” to carry out the transformation of public services websites nationwide from July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023.
